First of all I must encourage everyone who should have (but hasn’t) seen the stage play “YORUBA ROMANCE” to make sure they see it before it runs out at Terra Kulture.
It is by a country mile one of the best comedies you”ll ever watch on a stage. It had everyone in stitches with the deft handling of tricky tribal issues and stereotypes one comes away feeling that despite all the things we seem programmed to believe, we are not so different.
Quebic 4 productions and William Benson have pulled off a major coup with their ability to maximise what seems like a small episode in time and expand it while creating such an absorbing atmosphere.
It will be unfair to talk about all this without mentioning the foundation of this whole thing which is a very well written script. Tyrone Terrence’s script has delivered something that will be remembered and (most definitely) adapted for many formats, and many years to come.
In the end what you have with Quebic 4 production’s “Yoruba Romance” is one of those rare instances where everything comes together for good.
Great cast, great direction, great script = An unforgettable night at the theatre.
